Sophis is a CPU-mineable Layer 1 blockchain with Dilithium signatures from block zero. No premine. No ICO. No VC allocation. No on-chain devfund. 210 million supply cap. Modeled after Bitcoin's monetary discipline.
Bitcoin has the fair launch but no post-quantum cryptography. QRL and IOTA have post-quantum cryptography but no fair launch. Sophis occupies the empty intersection.
Dilithium ML-DSA-44 (NIST FIPS 204) is the only signature scheme. Schnorr and secp256k1 do not exist in the protocol. Future quantum attackers cannot forge transactions retroactively.
Zero premine. Zero ICO. Zero VC allocation. Zero on-chain devfund. Founder mining starts 24 hours after genesis with a self-imposed 5% lifetime cap, enforced by public monitoring.
RandomX, the memory-hard PoW battle-tested by Monero since 2019. Resists ASIC capture by design. Anyone with a recent CPU can participate from day zero.
Hard cap of 210,000,000 SPHS. Block subsidy decays at ~0.94% per month, producing a long-tail emission that asymptotes toward zero over ~159 years. No abrupt halvings.
Apache 2.0 with explicit patent grant. Build wallets, exchanges, indexers, miners, forks, derivative chains — no permission, no royalties, no patent retaliation surface.
Sophis Network is an unincorporated developer collective. No 501(c). No LLC. No token-weighted governance. Protocol changes follow the SIP process, reviewed by named maintainers — same model as Bitcoin Core.
Sophis is pre-mainnet. The reference implementation is complete across the core protocol: consensus, the sVM, the ZK-Rollup, self-hosted data availability, and the PQC oracle foundation. Seventeen Sophis Improvement Proposals (SIPs) are published.
Maintainers do not commit to specific launch dates. The genesis block ships when the launch checklist is fully green — not before. See MAINTAINERS.md § 4 and LAUNCH_CHECKLIST.md.
